Kenya - Day 2

By: Mackenzie Cogar and Allison Vuono

We had an adventurous day starting with a scenic drive through multiple villages on our way to a waterfall hike. Children laughed and waved while we caravanned through herds of sheep and goats. We hiked down to one waterfall then trekked up through the mud to another where some people were brave enough to jump off from the top! Pias, the ranger with us, taught us so much about the environment and the importance of conservation along the way. We finished this trip with a canopy walk over the lush green forest and a lunch in the trees!

Our afternoon activities included lots of bonding and excursion. We went out on a sunset game drive where we saw lots of animals such as elephants, zebras, and giraffes! We talked lots with our group leader, Kate Spencer, and got to know her well! After the sun had set we returned to our camp where we were served a great dinner from our awesome chef, Frieda. After we finished eating we all gathered to play our new favorite game, signs! This helped our group bond and by the end of the night it was safe to say we were exhausted!
