Greek Odyssey '16 -- The Promised Land

After a long night of flying, a short layover in Vienna, and a quick hop down to Greece, we're finally here! The Promised Land!

Things went very well today. We met up with our Greek tour planner, Caterina, and made the quick trip into Athens and our hotel. Once everyone had a chance to freshen up, we set out for a walking tour of the ancient city. This helped us get our bearings so we could then roam and explore a bit.

We enjoyed a feast of Greek dishes together for supper and somehow rolled ourselves out of the restaurant and explored the winding paths of Athens' island district to end up taking in the spectacular nighttime view of the city from the Aereopagus, Ares' Rock and the sight of the world's first court of law.

I'm having some trouble posting pictures right now due to band width issues. But hopefully we get some up here tomorrow as we explore the ruins and then head to the seaside town of Nafplio.

So far it's been a smooth trip and the group has a great dynamic going. Lb
