Monday in Romania: Work and Fun

After an early breakfast we went back to work: tilling soil, spreading compost, and planting roses. We are really making progress in the front of Pro Vita's homes. After planting, some of the boys worked on repairing the fences around the garden, while others sorted out rotten carrots and potatoes brought out from the flooded cellar underneath the community kitchen.
We spent the afternoon playing soccer and games with some of the 4th, 5th , and 6th grade boys. Despite the language barrier, our whole group had a great time interacting with the young kids of this community through exercise and play and look forward to to doing more of the same throughout our stay. We are currently resting up before dinner and preparing for tomorrow's journey into Transylvania-the land of castles, or as the tenth century Magyars called it, "the land beyond the forest."
